In Religion, we read our Seeds Gospel Weekly for March 7th

and completed an activity with the stories.
We discussed that there is a place for everything, and that God's house (church) is a place for praying.

Unit 6, Week 3 is a Review week reinforcing the letters and words that have already been introduced. We will be doing the work for Unit 6, Week 2 and Unit 6, Week 3.
Students will be completing two Language Arts packets: Unit 6 -Wk 2; and Unit 6 - Wk. 3.
Students will be completing two Small Morning Work booklets: 6.2; and 6.3
Students will be completing the homework packets for both 6.2; and 6.3.
Many students have completed some of the work that was sent home during the snow days.

For in-class learners: Please send in childsize headphones for your child to use for the Star testing the week of March 1st - 5th. Please place the headset in a labeled "freezer" gallon size bag. (It is being reported that "freezer" bags are more durable and rip less than other types.)

Your children did an excellent job on Zoom today!
We completed the Unit 5 Assessment,
completed Lesson 3 in Math,
and listened to "The Easter Story".
I was impressed with their ability to focus and get work done!
Tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 19th has been declared a "Two hour delay" day. Students are to report to the classroom at 9:20 am.
(Of course this could change overnight!)
You have received a poster with an instruction sheet for a
100th Day Project!
Please have fun with this project, and return the completed posters by Tuesday, Feb. 23rd.
Our class is scheduled to participate in Renaissance/Star Testing which is taken on an iPad.

Happy Friday!
We enjoyed our Valentine Bingo and Party today!
Thank you to all the parents who sent in treats for the party!
I turned their desks into a giant circle so they could see each other while maintining social distance!
The students in front were facing the other students, and moved back to watch a Valentine show.
They loved facing each other, and the party,
and the Valentine's they received from friends!
Reminder that Monday is a No School day for Presidents Day.

We continued our Language Arts Unit 6, Week 1.
Due to the delay, we were unabe to do Math today.
I read a story "The SnowGlobe Family" and we are beginning a project based on that story. The students will create a "snowglobe" and do a writing assignment about what they would do if they lived in a snowglobe. It will be fun to see what they say!

The students heard about little Martin growing up and what happened in his life that showed him how laws were unfair.
They learned about his mission growing up and his desire to make the world better with freedom and equality for all people.
They listened to part of his "I have a Dream" speech, and how he successfully changed laws to make the United States better for all people.
The class also enjoyed special with Ms. Koval.

In Religion, we made Christmas cards to be sent to soldiers along with their "Stockings for Soldiers" gifts for Christmas.
We talked about the branches of the military (Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, and National Guard) and how they serve to keep us safe, and our freedom safe. We will be continuing our focus on our brave military men and women, and learn about our Military Veteran's, as we approach Veteran's Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11th.
We also created a flock of turkeys for our classroom door, using shapes (circles, squares & triangles).

we started Ch. 15: God Chooses Mary
We had a discussion about God choosing Mary to have his son, Jesus. We also completed coloring activities about how we can help others and show love to others. October is the month we honor Mary with prayers and rosary.
The students enjoyed Music today with Mrs. Wagner.

In the afternoon, the class enjoyed painting pumpkins with Miss Koval.
We also started our Show & Tell presentations. Thank you for helping your child find M items. They love giving clues and presenting what they brought.
