Our wonderful parents have the food for the feast covered....thank you all, and thank you Liana Ayotte for organizing.
Homework:
Reminder: Tomorrow is PE day: girls should wear hair pulled back.
"Wear Day" will normally be on Thursdays. However, this week, with the Bishop's visit, we are moving "Wear Day" to Friday.
Instead of their uniforms, students may wear something that begins with the letter Mm. (example shirts with moons, monkeys, mickey mouse, etc.)
Thank you,
Mrs. Pogonyi
Thank you parents for all the help you gave to your child with their "disguise a bear". They were beaming when they brought them in today! I can't wait to get them on the hallway wall.
Today was a busy day in KB!
We started our new Unit in Language Arts. Our Essential Question is: How can we get along with new friends? We discussed ways to get along with friends. We read the book "What Abut Bear?", and discussed what happened with the friends in the story.
We also introduced a new HFW: "the".
Today was our first Letter of the Week: Mm. We practiced "skywriting Uppercase M and Lowercase m. We read the book "Monkey's Miserable Monday", and identified pictures of objects that begin with the /m/ sound.
We also introduced vocabulary words: "friend" (someone you like to spend time with); and "problem" (something that is hard to figure out).
In Math, we completed Ch. 9, Lesson 3: Sorting by color and size.
The students enjoyed both Music and Spanish today.
In the afternoon, we had learning centers. These centers will be presented all week with students rotating to experience each learning station.
This week's center stations focus on:
1 - Writing and making HFW's out of play-doh
2 - Reading Group using Wonder's Leveled Readers
3 - Writing "I can..." and tracing the picture.
4 - Sorting by color (matching pompoms to same color mitten), and Counting number in each group.
5 - Practicing beginning sound /M/ by identifying and cutting out pictures that begin with Mm, and then glue them on a giant Mug.
THIS WEEK BEGINS SHOW AND TELL AND WEAR DAY!!
Homework:
Math homework sheet was sent home today.
The students will present a clue to the class about their item, and the students will guess what it is. If you can hide the item in a bag, that would help. Or students can keep the item in their backpack.

ECP 3 & 4 and Kindergarten children will dismiss at 2:35 p.m.
When grades 1 – 8 are finished with afternoon prayer (2:40 p.m.), they will dismiss in grade order.
When entering the back lot, follow the directions on the attached map. Pull in and drive behind the church; park in order of available spaces. Do not back into parking spaces as this will interrupt the flow of dismissal traffic.
If your children play in the playground area, make sure you park along the back tree line close to the playground! Otherwise, your vacant vehicle blocks the flow of dismissal.
DO NOT TRY TO MOVE YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO BY SCHOOL PERSONNEL !
Remember: Our objective is the safety of the children!"
Also....
Kindergarten did their best at our Opening Liturgy today in Church!
(Yes, that's a positive spin!)
Reminders....
Next Tuesday, Sept. 18th: Pretzel Orders for the year are due.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you,
Mrs. Pogonyi
